Fiona Carnie, author of a new book on Alternative Approaches to Education (published by Routledge Falmer, October 2002) is an expert on educational alternatives. She is the former co-ordinator of Human Scale Education and has been working for many years to encourage new initiatives in both the alternative and mainstream education sectors.
